For the Regina di WAVE champion, Shida Hikaru will wrestle on the AEW TV show.

The Regina di WAVE champion is a champion certified by WAVE, a Japanese Joshi Wrestling company. It was founded in 2012.

The first champion was decided at the WAVE Tournament Catch the WAVE winner's deciding tournament. The tournament was attended by Ohka Yumi (currently president of ZABUN, the company that manages WAVE), KANA (now WWE Asuka), Kurihara Ayumi and Ohata Misaki.

Hikaru is the 19th champion and the following members have been crowned champions so far.

Famous members of the modern Joshi wrestling have defended this champion. There is also the name "ANIKI" Mizunami Ryou, which even AEW fans know well.

Shida is not a member of WAVE, but she has been a beloved member of the organization since she started freelancing. It's a belt she has a lot of heart for, and to be able to play this match on American television is a way of giving back to the organization.
